THIS PLACE I CALL HOME

When I first saw this place, I sighed

To see the residents inside,

For some were crippled, some were blind,

And some had problems undefined.

My family reacted too,

Saying "this is not the place for you".

But I moved in because I knew

Someday I'd be disabled too,

And need the help that's offered here,

Where someone always would be near,

Companionship I soon would find;

New friends and old, so sweet and kind.

And such a happy place;

The staff are willing, full of grace,

Good times we all can often share,

Or gather for some songs and prayer.

There are healthy meals to keep us well,

And snacks that OSCaR's Place will sell.

Now I am frail and getting old,

With risk of falling, I am told,

And need this place of safety here,

To help me live without the fear.

From here I hope I never roam,

This place I call My Home!
