Summer Memo for OSCR Outreach Clients
Summer Considerations & Vacation Coverage - Memo for OSCR outreach clients in the community
Re: Summer Considerations & Vacation Coverage
It’s getting warmer out, think about how to stay cool!
We are finally getting some warmer weather! While it can be beautiful outside, often temperatures indoors can increase significantly, and we may not immediately notice. This can impact your health and that of our visiting staff. Please be mindful of rising temperatures, and be sure to run air-conditioning or fans when temperatures rise to keep everyone safe and comfortable.
Vacation Coverage
Warmer weather also means vacation season. We understand and appreciate the connection our clients form with those who come to assist; however, we want our team members to take their vacation time and come back recharged and refreshed to serve you better. Particularly in times of staffing shortages throughout the health system, as we are now, we are very lucky to have the coverage we do. As such, we ask that you please be kind with the individuals who are providing that coverage. They are all fully capable and certified staff who are there to assist you, and we will do our best to ensure you are given excellent service no matter who arrives to provide the help.
We are not able to accommodate specific requests for staff members. Should you feel you do not require service on any given day, you may always politely decline the service at any time without impacting your next scheduled visit.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our non-discriminatory hiring practices, and our unwavering respect for people from every walk of life, regardless of age, sex, gender, race, religion, sexual identity and every other aspect of the human experience that makes us who we are. We thank you for extending your respect for your usual staff person to every member of our team.
Summer Plans and Cancelling Visits
If you will not require services for periods over the spring and summer for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible. This information is vitally important in helping us plan your care and that of your fellow clients. If you do need to cancel a visit, our Supervisors are available at 905-827-4139 ext. 156 and voicemail is checked regularly, 24/7.
We wish you a fun, safe and healthy summer.
